RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THESIS SAMPLE

A results and discussion section in a thesis presents the results of the research carried out by the author, and discusses the implications of those results. This section typically includes the following elements:

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THESIS SAMPLE
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THESIS SAMPLE

1. A description of the research methods used, including any statistical tests that were performed

2. A presentation of the results obtained, including any tables, figures, or graphs that help to illustrate the findings

3. An analysis of the results, discussing how they relate to the research question and any hypotheses that were tested

4. A discussion of the implications of the results, including any potential applications or implications for future research

Here is an example of how this section might look in a thesis:

#### Results

The research was conducted using a survey of 200 participants, who were asked to complete a questionnaire assessing their attitudes towards social media. The survey included both closed-ended and open-ended questions, and the data were analyzed using statistical tests including t-tests and chi-square tests.

The results of the survey indicated that overall, participants had positive attitudes towards social media. On a scale of 1-5, with 1 being "strongly disagree" and 5 being "strongly agree", the average response to the statement "I enjoy using social media" was 4.3. In addition, 82% of participants reported that they use social media on a daily basis.

However, the results also showed some differences in attitudes based on gender and age. Female participants were more likely than male participants to agree with the statement "I use social media to keep in touch with friends and family", with an average response of 4.5 compared to 4.1 for male participants. In addition, younger participants were more likely than older participants to agree with the statement "I use social media to stay up-to-date on current events", with an average response of 4.7 for participants under the age of 30 compared to 4.1 for participants over the age of 30.

#### Analysis

The results of the survey support the hypothesis that overall, people have positive attitudes towards social media. This is consistent with previous research in this area, which has also found that people generally enjoy using social media and find it to be a valuable tool for staying connected with others.

The findings also suggest that there are some differences in attitudes towards social media based on gender and age. Female participants were more likely to use social media to keep in touch with friends and family, while younger participants were more likely to use it to stay up-to-date on current events. This suggests that social media may serve different purposes for different people, and that future research should take these factors into account when studying attitudes towards social media.

#### Discussion

The results of this study have implications for both researchers and practitioners in the field of social media. For researchers, the findings suggest that future studies should consider the role of gender and age in shaping attitudes towards social media. Additionally, the use of surveys and statistical tests can be an effective method for studying attitudes in this area.

For practitioners, the results indicate that social media is a valuable tool for staying connected with others, and that it is important to consider the different ways that people use social media when designing campaigns or strategies. Additionally, the findings suggest that targeting specific groups, such as women or younger people, may be an effective way to reach certain audiences.

The results of this study provide valuable insights into attitudes towards social media, and suggest areas for future research and application.
